April’s full Moon gets the name Pink Moon from the wildflower called Phlox Subulata.

Phlox Subulata is a wildflower native to eastern North America, this wildflower goes by many names.

• Creeping Phlox
• Moss Phlox
• Moss Pink

The Pink Moon often corresponds with the early springtime blooms from the Phlox Subulata hence given the name Pink Moon.
